THE ROLE OF THE ADVOCACY INSTITUTION IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF CIVIL SOCIETY

Abstract

This article examines the role of the legal profession in the development of civil society, the protection of human rights and freedoms, the strengthening of the rule of law, and the establishment of a legal balance between individuals and the state. It analyzes the constitutional and legal foundations of advocacy in the Republic of Uzbekistan, safeguards for lawyers’ independence, mechanisms for exercising the right to qualified legal assistance, and cooperation between the legal profession and civil society institutions. Particular attention is paid to improving public legal awareness, protecting socially vulnerable persons, and strengthening mechanisms for ensuring legality in public administration. The study develops proposals for reinforcing the independence of the legal profession, expanding access to legal assistance, improving professional self-governance, and increasing the social effectiveness of advocacy.
